What Shaped the Person
I Am Today?

Every person carries a story behind who they become. Mine is a journey shaped by family values, faith, discipline, learning, and countless experiences that slowly built the person I am today. I was not always the person you see now. Life introduced me to challenges, opportunities, people, and responsibilities that taught me patience and purpose. From my family and church community to NCC leadership, journalism, environmental work, and digital marketing, each experience added a new layer to my thinking. This story is not simply about achievements or titles. It is about the people, values, and lessons that shaped my character, decisions, and the way I approach both life and work.

A Journey Written by Life, Lessons, and Meaningful Stories

A glimpse into the life experiences that shaped me, my values, and purpose.

1. Where Did My Story Begin?

I was born and raised in Aruvikkara, Thiruvananthapuram, in a family that shaped my values deeply. My father Vijayan and mother Chithralekha taught me the importance of humility, discipline, and faith. I am a twin, and my sister Athulya is a botanist and an environmental enthusiast currently pursuing the Civil Services. My elder sister Anju works with the Kerala State Cooperative Election Commission, while my brother-in-law serves as a Beat Forest Officer in the Kerala Forest Department. The youngest joy in our family is my nephew Aiden. Growing up in such a family made me understand responsibility early in life and gave me a deep respect for nature, service, and community.

2. What Role Does Faith Play in My Life?

Faith is an essential part of who I am. I belong to the Latin Catholic Christian community, and my spiritual home is Holy Family Church, Mylom, Aruvikkara. My involvement with the church goes beyond attending prayers. I actively volunteer and contribute to various ministries within the church community. One of my greatest joys is music. I serve as a keyboard player in the church, and I also conduct private keyboard classes for children and people who genuinely wish to learn the instrument. Music and faith together have helped me develop patience, discipline, and emotional balance. They remind me that life is not only about professional success but also about serving people and nurturing talents.

3. How Did NCC Shape My Discipline?

During my college years, I joined the NCC Army Wing, which became one of the most transformative experiences in my life. I served as a Senior Under Officer and participated in several national-level NCC camps, representing Kerala on national platforms. One of my proudest moments was leading the Kerala contingent as a commander during a national camp. NCC taught me discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership under pressure. The training pushed me beyond my comfort zone and helped me develop the confidence to take responsibility for people and decisions. Even today, many of the habits I follow—punctuality, structure, and responsibility—are lessons I learned through NCC training and leadership experience.

4. Why Am I Deeply Connected to Nature?

Nature has always been close to my heart. Growing up in Kerala’s green landscapes naturally built a strong connection with the environment. This connection became stronger when I began working with the We Grow Forest Foundation, where I actively contribute to environmental initiatives and sustainability efforts. My family background also reinforces this mindset, especially with close relatives working in forest conservation roles. For me, protecting nature is not just a concept—it is a responsibility. I strongly believe that progress and development must respect ecological balance. Through my involvement in environmental activities and organisations, I try to contribute to a future where human progress and nature coexist in harmony.

5. What Did My Education Teach Me?

My academic journey played a key role in shaping my perspective on communication and media. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Malayalam and Mass Communication from St. Xavier’s College, Thumba, affiliated with the University of Kerala. During these years, I explored the world of journalism, storytelling, media ethics, and communication strategy. College life was also where I balanced academics with NCC leadership roles, sports shooting, and creative media activities. Later, I expanded my learning through training in cooperative education and computer applications, which helped me understand organisational systems and digital tools. Education did not simply give me degrees; it gave me a way of thinking, analysing, and communicating ideas effectively.

6. How Did Journalism Shape My Communication Skills?

Before entering digital marketing, I had the opportunity to experience the world of traditional media. I interned with Kerala Kaumudi, one of Kerala’s leading newspapers, where I learned the realities of news reporting, field coverage, and newsroom coordination. I also worked with Amrita Television, assisting with data research and election coverage analysis. These experiences taught me accuracy, responsibility, and the importance of credible information. Journalism trained me to observe details, analyse facts, and communicate clearly. These lessons later became extremely valuable in my digital work, where content authenticity and clarity are essential for building trust between brands and audiences.

7. Where Did My Digital Marketing Journey Begin?

My journey into digital marketing began with WeBrandTech, the digital branding division associated with the We Grow Forest Foundation. Here, I worked on SEO strategies, social media campaigns, Google and Meta advertisements, and digital content frameworks for businesses and organisations. This experience taught me how creative storytelling and data-driven marketing must work together to build strong digital brands. Over time, I developed a deeper understanding of search visibility, performance marketing, and online brand positioning. Working with multiple clients allowed me to see different business challenges and digital opportunities. These years helped me evolve into a solution-oriented digital professional focused on meaningful results.

8. How Did Organisational Leadership Shape My Perspective?

My involvement with the We Grow Forest Foundation allowed me to grow beyond marketing into organisational leadership. I began as an Operations Associate during my undergraduate years, supporting environmental and community initiatives. Over time, I grew into the role of Operations Manager, coordinating teams, projects, and strategic initiatives. This experience helped me understand how organisations function and how communication plays a role in leadership. Working closely with communities and volunteers also deepened my understanding of people, social impact, and responsible communication. It taught me that professional work should always aim to create meaningful value for society and not simply pursue profit.

9. What Other Interests Continue to Shape My Personality?

Outside my professional life, I maintain strong interests in sports, discipline-based activities, and shooting sports. I have received shooting training through the Trivandrum Rifle Association and practice at the Vattiyoorkavu Shooting Academy. Shooting demands focus, patience, and mental control—qualities that influence how I approach challenges in life and work. I also enjoy football and have received structured training through activities associated with the Trivandrum Football Association. Sports have always helped me maintain balance, discipline, and resilience. These activities remind me that success requires practice, consistency, and calm thinking under pressure, values that are equally important in professional life.

10. What Continues to Drive Me Forward?

What drives me forward is a combination of faith, responsibility, curiosity, and purpose. I remain actively involved in church communities such as Jesus Youth, KCYM, and the Neyyattinkara Diocese Media Ministry, where I have served as a member and convenor for several years. These experiences constantly remind me of the importance of leadership through service. My journey so far—from family values and faith to media, marketing, and environmental initiatives; has shaped the way I see the world. I believe meaningful work should create impact, respect people, and protect the environment. This philosophy continues to guide me in every professional and personal decision I make.

Is Success the
Measure of a Life?

If someone asks me whether I am successful, I truly do not know the answer. What I do know is that I am at peace with the person I am becoming. At the end of each day, I can sleep peacefully, knowing I gave my best effort. Seeing my father’s proud eyes when he looks at me means more than any title or recognition. I try to live a balanced life—ten hours of focused work, meaningful time with friends and family, and proper rest. That rhythm keeps me grounded and grateful. My story continues to evolve every day. I have shared a part of it with you, and if our paths cross professionally, I would be honoured to listen to your story as well.

Do we have a story?
